A Salisbury city centre wedding - EliseRoseann, Wiltshire wedding photographer
Who says wedding photos should be limited to pretty fields and mansion house walks? You’ve just married your best friend! If you have the time, why not spend some of it playing together in the city? J&N had a church ceremony and afternoon tea reception, then allowed plenty of time to just enjoy each other’s company before an intimate evening family meal. I was so honoured to be a part of their day.
The benefit of a city like Salisbury is you have the interest of buildings, bridges, water and also a bit of greenery, perfect for some variety. We took a stroll into Elizabeth gardens to capture some more natural, nature filled portraits too.
Then back to the cathedral to finish up!
Not every wedding day has time for a relaxed, extended portrait session. It’s all about balancing getting the photos you’d love to have on your wall and making sure you spend as much time as possible with your family and friends. J&N opted to have a split day to allow themselves plenty of breathing space and to prioritise some proper alone time (after their portraits, not just with me!) If you had less time, you could still get some amazing variety and interest during a city portrait session. Ask your photographer to find a spot with lots of different options all in one space to limit walking time.
What other spots around Salisbury would you love to have your photo taken?
